The authorities of Belarus can turn off the Internet during meetings that may take place on the day of the presidential elections in the country. As reported TASS, said the presidential candidate of Belarus Andrei Dmitriev.
Yesterday, as reported by “the Rambler”, the Belarusian authorities announced the arrest of 33 militants, who arrived in the country to destabilize the situation during the presidential elections, which is scheduled for August 9, citizens of Russia, employees of one of private military companies (PMCs).
On the same day, the Central Commission of Belarus for elections (CCBV) invited all candidates for President to appear in CCBV on the next day. Today the state Secretary of the security Council of Belarus Andrei Ravkov, who took part in this meeting, reported that in the course of it before the candidates were brought some information, and campaign events will be held with increased security measures.
In turn, Dmitriev said that during the meeting asked Ravkov, is it possible to limit the Internet during meetings. He replied that it is not excluded that case from the Internet will be based on direct threat to the security of Belarus.
