A 22-year-old cyclist was seriously injured in an accident with a turning truck in Berlin and lost her arm. The accident happened on Thursday afternoon in Niederschöneweide in Treptow-Köpenick, the Berlin police said on Friday.
The woman was driving on the Köpenicker Landstraße cycle path when the truck hit her when she turned right. The cyclist fell under the truck, her arm was severed and her leg was seriously injured. Witnesses cared for the woman on site until emergency services arrived. She was taken to a hospital. The 32-year-old truck driver was in shock and was also taken to the hospital. The police are investigating.
