Daria Kaleniuk has been campaigning for her homeland since the outbreak of war in Ukraine. The lawyer is director of an anti-corruption action center. On the way to a demonstration in Madrid, she stops at Frankfurt Airport and has an unpleasant encounter with a security guard.

The “image” described the Ukrainian woman the incident. “The security guard asked if he could open the bag. I said ‘of course’.” The security guard spotted something in the bag and his tone immediately became gruff. The problem? The flyers he spotted looked like Ukrainian passports . He snapped at her immediately: “What is that? Passports?” Kaleniuk then tells him to take a closer look at the flyers. Apparently they weren’t passports, but instead read: “Arm Ukraine, now!”

“This is not my war, it will lead to World War III,” the man said in a loud, harsh tone. Kaleniuk countered that Germany was co-financing the war with gas imports from Russia. That statement was the last straw for the security guard.

“Go! And kill more Russians,” the security guard shouted. The lawyer vented her anger on Twitter: “‘This is not my war’ – a border guard at Frankfurt Airport started yelling at me when he saw leaflets with the slogan

After the incident, she said to “Bild”: “I was very sad. There seemed to be no will at all from him to understand what is happening in my country. I’m just trying to do what I can to stop the atrocities and genocide in Ukraine and then someone says what I’m doing will lead to World War III.”

But the disappointment is not enough, Kaleniuk goes even further: “He probably represents important parts of German society.” And with that she also wants to get at Chancellor Olaf Scholz: “The way Scholz behaves seems as if he would represent people.”

The responsible federal police have meanwhile already initiated investigations and would like to find out who the said security guard is.

Moscow wants to close the gaps in the Russian army in the war against Ukraine. General mobilization has not yet been announced, but there are signs that soldiers are already being recruited – and in different ways.

At least 17 people died in a rocket attack on the southern Ukrainian city of Odessa. Ukraine sees the recapture of Snake Island as an important strategic achievement. And the Foreign Ministry distances itself from statements made by Ambassador Melnyk. What happened on the night of July 1st.

Andriy Melnyk did it again. The Ukrainian ambassador bluntly rebuffed a call by well-known intellectuals such as the philosopher Richard David Precht for a “ceasefire now”. Such a thing is not wise. Something else is smarter.
