Ash Jacobys new single ‘the Chant’ has emerged in the borderland between isolation and togetherness.
It’s about the human spirit the strength and the hope of the future in the difficult coronatider.
And the video, which is filmed in isolation in different homes in the bl.a. England, Thailand, France and Mozambique, displays a colourful range of Askes personal friends.
Before Ash Jacoby played with both the C. V. Jørgensen, Thomas Helmig and Sanne Salomonsen. Alongside the in-demand guitarist, composer and arranger cultivated his solo career. And the song ‘Chant’ first appeared on the Jacobys solo album ‘Chant’ from 2014.
“I have for years had the desire to make a different version of the song, since I didn’t feel that potential was fully redeemed in the first version. It finally managed to get it trawled finished,” says Aske Jacoby. the
Stylistically describes the Ash Jacoby even his new single uptempo funk/rock track with traces back to Talking Heads’ in the middle 80’s production.
And on the video says Ash jacoby himself:
“It’s a song about unity and cohesion ‘(A message of unity’. More than ever before, it is clear that we are all in the same boat, that we are all part of the same chain and thus a part of each other’s life and fate.”
the Sound is recorded in Los Angeles, Paris and Copenhagen. And according to Ash even supports the video message that we the people share everything: Birth, death, resources, disasters, the divine, natural wonders and much more.
“As time has passed, the song has only become more relevant and shows up now as a strong snapshot. It is hard, but there is hope. We are in this together,” says Aske Jacoby.
