The impact of global climate change on the temperature of the planet began to exceed the influence of natural factors, said the scientific Director of the hydrometeorological center Roman Vilfand.
Scientists from the 70-ies of the last century observed global climate change triggered by the influence of human emissions of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. However, climate skeptics have suggested that global climate change plays a decisive role in the ongoing changes of temperature. So, the key to a record warm years on the planet considered the phenomenon El Nino, writes RIA “Novosti”.
“2016-th year was the warmest largely due to the fact that developed the phenomenon of El niño. That is, the warming of the surface waters of the Pacific ocean has led to the fact that a powerful flow of heat by turbulence and convection is transmitted to the atmosphere. Apparently, global warming begins to prevail so that even the powerful natural factors like El niño, significant, but not so” – said Vilfand.
In his opinion, according to the calculations of all national services, including our own, the likelihood of El Nino during the summer months is 20-25%.
“If El niño will develop, it can be argued that we will see the warmest year”, – concluded the scientist.
Earlier Vilfand reported that in Russia the rate of global warming 2.5 times higher than warming temperatures in the world.
We will remind, the scientist suggested that 2020 could be one of the five hottest years ever recorded. In addition, according to the world meteorological organization predicted a record increase in the average temperature on Earth.
