The chaos before the Champions League final between Liverpool and Real in Paris has consequences. The incidents are being analyzed, and according to France’s interior minister, Jürgen Klopp is partly to blame.
Accusations against Klopp: French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin accuses Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp of encouraging fans to come to the French capital and have fun without tickets. Of course, Klopp had not asked any fan to try to get into the stadium without a ticket.
Printed tickets only: Darmanin speaks of 30,000 to 40,000 Liverpool fans who would have gathered in front of the Stade des France with fake tickets or no tickets. Part of the problem was that Liverpool insisted on paper tickets instead of electronic tickets. The Paris police prefect Didier Lallement turned on the judiciary because of the fraud.
2,700 fans with tickets unlucky: Minister of Sport Oudéa-Castera regrets that around 2,700 Liverpool fans with regular tickets could not attend the game. According to them, Uefa has agreed to “compensate” the fans affected.
