We walk there, we refresh ourselves there, we play there or we lie down there with a book, often without wondering too much about the history of these urban parks which appeared in the metropolis at the end of the 19th century.
This summer, Heritage Montreal invites people to discover the city’s parks from another perspective, as part of its ArchitecTours series of guided tours.
The history of the places, their architecture and their layout as well as their links with the neighborhood will be explained by volunteer guides.
Five tours are offered on Saturdays and Sundays from August 5 to October 1, including Parc Jean-Mance and surrounding areas, Morgan Park and surrounding areas, Outremont Parks, Beaudet Park and Old St. Lawrence, and Jarry Park and surrounding areas.
Tickets must be purchased online in advance.
