The US special envoy on Syria, James Jeffrey acknowledged the military success of Russia in the SAR. He said that even limited participation in the Syrian conflict allows the Russian side to achieve great success.
They were very successful militarily in Syria. The problem is that there is no political solution because of issues with Assad. Our job is to provide them with a way forward through the UN, with the support of the United Nations. But this requires that they are to some extent distanced itself from Assad and Iranians — quoted James Jeffrey RIA Novosti.
He added that the main tasks of Russia in Syria is the maintenance of military bases and protect national economic investment. James Jeffrey noted that the Russian side is dissatisfied with the President of ATS, however, “sees no alternative”.
