A year ago, national player Joshua Kimmich extended his contract with FC Bayern until 2025, but the ambitious midfielder doesn’t have to stay in Munich forever. The 27-year-old is attracted to foreign countries.
New challenge: Despite his long-term contract with Bayern Munich, Joshua Kimmich says he can imagine a future abroad. “That would be an interesting challenge. I don’t know what will happen in a few years, we’ll see,” said Kimmich in an interview with the French magazine “So Foot”.

Praise for Nagelsmann: However, the 66-time national player also emphasized: “I have a very good coach who is an advocate of attractive football,” enthuses Kimmich about his coach Julian Nagelsmann. But beware, Bayern: “I have a lot of fun here, but somewhere in my head there is always this professional and personal challenge of one day discovering new horizons.”
Almost fleeing under Ancelotti: Although FC Bayern does not have to fear that the leading player will leave in the near future, Kimmich was on the verge of fleeing – namely during his time under coach Carlo Ancelotti: “Back then, when I didn’t play as much as I did wished for, I thought about leaving the club for a while.” Under the Italian, Kimmich only started 15 times.
