It’s over after 20 years: The casting veteran “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” will flicker across the screens for the last time in spring 2023. This was announced by RTL on Wednesday morning. Dieter Bohlen will return to the jury for this.
RTL will stop its casting show “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” after the coming season – and Dieter Bohlen will return to the jury as a farewell. “We have changed, Dieter Bohlen has changed too. I think the break was good for both sides,” RTL Managing Director Henning Tewes told the German Press Agency on Wednesday. Florian Silbereisen, who took over the job of head of the jury last season, will no longer be there. RTL is developing new program formats with him, it said.
For DSDS it should be over after the 20th edition, the new and last season will be shown in spring 2023. Only in the past, the 19th season, was the head of the jury Bohlen not there.
The show is an important part of his life, Bohlen now told the German Press Agency. “It just has to be like that to be part of the last season.” He, who was often offended with his brusque manner, would not be good: “If I wasn’t allowed to be the dieter that I am, I wouldn’t have agreed .” First, “Bild” reported on Bohlen’s return.
