Borussia Dortmund is making heavy losses this financial year – a surprising personnel decision also contributed to this.
High losses: The dismissal of coach Marco Rose shook BVB properly. But not only emotionally, but explicitly also financially. The loss for the current financial year totaled 25 to 29 million euros, as Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA announced in an ad hoc announcement.

Dismissal worsens the result: In February, the losses were still forecast at 17 to 24 million euros. “The background to the forecast deterioration in earnings for the 2021/2022 financial year is essentially the premature separation from the previous head coach and his coaching team,” says the statement.
Terzic moves up: After a mixed season with Dortmund’s early exit from the Champions League, Europa League and DFB Cup, Rose was released by BVB and replaced by sports director and ex-coach Edin Terzic.
