The federal and state governments had been wrestling for a long time about a successor to the popular 9-euro ticket and finally agreed in October. In the future, you should be able to travel all over Germany with public transport for 49 euros.
But the introduction of the so-called Germany ticket is now apparently being delayed further. As “rp-online” reports, it should come around April 2023 at the earliest. Next week, the transport ministers of the federal states will meet for another special conference, which Federal Transport Minister Volker Wissing (FDP) is also supposed to take part in.
The Deutschlandticket and the financing of public transport will continue to shape the debate at the conference, according to participants. There is still a lot to be clarified: for example tariff approval, revenue sharing, changing subscriptions, sales and marketing. And the Federal Ministry of Transport still has to come to terms with the European Commission.
The honorary chairman of the Pro Bahn passenger association, Karl-Peter Naumann, said “rp” that the ticket would not fail. But: “You will do it on cramp.”
