For two days the volunteers visited two and a half thousand soldiers. It is planned to congratulate about six and a half thousand veterans.

Volunteers recognized: to congratulate veterans – a touching, enjoyable and at the same time difficult. The combatants now over ninety, so not all of them may themselves out to the volunteers. But other waiting guests dress up and put the order.

– Some lay the table in anticipation of our visit. Offer tea with sweets, but we can’t. They get upset, we comfort, we talk, everyone wants to just chat with someone, – the volunteer tells Anastasia. – Many lonely. Unfortunately, a lot of lying. Then we are relatives, but at least we understand that the veterans under supervision, it pleases. Five percent did not meet either the phone or the doorbell, the neighbors did not know where they are. I want to believe that children took to themselves.

the Most sad cases – single infirm veterans. Sometimes, in order to give congratulations, you need to call the social worker with keys to the apartment. But as happy volunteers, when they meet a cheerful, cheerful front. Volunteer chat rooms are full of pictures and experiences.

“I Came today to one of my grandma, and she digs a vegetable garden at all! That is hardening, that’s the web!”

“we can independently leave the unit. But those who impressed. Grandpa told me how rattled during the fight – now, a little humorous. Loved it! The positivity and kindness from him go.”

“Opens the door for us a woman of sixty – daughter of the veteran. Asks to wait, as the receiving congratulations deign to talk on the phone with America. Stand waiting for. Asked daughter a question, and ‘ buela will be able to reach our congratulations (based on available experience, the question was quite reasonable)… and then from behind the door viparchive girl 90+, fixing her hair and apologizing for not dressed for pictures.”

“a Hundred years! She’s even wearing lipstick!”

“Thanks to this project for the opportunity to see these people smiling, telling about their life for two to three minutes – and I want to listen and listen. Thank you, but to say thank you to them!”

P. S.

presentation of gifts to the veterans is treated with strict precautions. All volunteers in masks, gloves and comply with the necessary distance.
