MOSCOW, may 5 — RIA Novosti. The Minister of tourism and antiquities of Egypt, Khaled al-Anani said that foreign tourism in the near future will not return to Egypt, according to Egypt Independent.

During a phone call in the TV show Ahmed Moussa Ala Massoulity (“My responsibility”), he explained that the return of foreign guests depends on the situation in Egypt and in the countries from which they come.

According to Anani, the representatives of several States have asked the Republic’s authorities about the possibility of opening tourism by June. The Minister said that the government will consider this issue as soon as the circumstances are clearer with the spread of coronavirus.

According to him, the travelers will probably have to prove that they are not infected. In addition, it may be limited to a maximum age of guests up to 48.

Anani recalled that until June hotels will work only for local residents and with maximum load of 25 percent. From 1 June the capacity will increase to 50 percent.

Now hotels, travel companies, restaurants, markets and cafes in the resorts of Egypt are closed. Experts estimate that the tourism sector of the country loses one billion dollars a month because of a pandemic.
