The Verkhovna Rada of the new composition, the majority of which consists of deputies from the party “servant of the people”, for the first time approved a resolution on the appeal to the parliaments of foreign States and international organizations with a call to “strengthen the external pressure on the Russian Federation to stop its military aggression against Ukraine.”
“the Decision aims to approve the appeal of the Verkhovna Rada to the parliaments of foreign States, the parliamentary assemblies of international organizations with a call to increase external pressure on Russia to stop its military aggression against Ukraine, the implementation of the relevant decisions of international organizations and international courts, the liberation of the temporarily occupied territories and the return of Russia into the international legal field”, – said in the text adopted by Parliament the document, reports TASS.
Rada also accused Russia of fulfilment of the actions directed “against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine” and the failure of the Minsk agreements on the settlement of the conflict in the Donbass. Kiev calls on parliaments and international organizations to strengthen the political-diplomatic and sanctions pressure on Moscow “to complete cessation of armed aggression and the restoration of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine”; requests to adhere to the “non-recognition policy of annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and city of Sevastopol”, and also use all the mechanisms to release the detained in Russia Ukrainian citizens.
In addition, the Parliament calls on Russia “to abandon the expansion of aggressive action in the black sea region” and the buildup of military forces in the Black and Azov seas; calls to condemn the construction of a bridge across the Kerch Strait, as well as giving away “all kinds of military cooperation with Russia, including joint military exercises and the transfer of defense technologies”.
The text of the resolution comes into force from the date of its adoption and must be urgently submitted to the foreign parliaments and international organizations. The authors are deputies from several political forces, including “public Servants” European solidarity”, “Voices”.
