“At the moment we know that with a small number of exceptions, children are affected in a minor form. But worse know how often they get this infection and how contagious they can be for other children and members of their families,” he said.
According to the expert, there is a small amount of evidence, including from the Netherlands and Australia, which suggests that children become infected less often than adults.
“But I have to say that this is very preliminary and unconvincing conclusions. So we need more evidence,” added Finn.
