Because in developed countries, including the Russian Federation, a large number of patients is on a ventilator, the number of deaths from novel coronavirus infection is much more than the dangerous forms of influenza.
From the point of view of the scientist, the restrictive measures in Russia are justified because they helped to save the lives of many people.
