About 300 million people will lose their jobs and more than 1.5 billion inhabitants of the Earth will be left without livelihood because of quarantine measures aimed at preventing the spread of coronavirus infection, sure the staff of the International labour organization (ILO). This experts stated in its third report on the situation in the world during a pandemic, reports RIA Novosti.

It is noted that earlier forecast was more forgiving: it was assumed that the work will lose about 195 million people. Subsequently, the ILO revised its Outlook for the future. To date, it is expected that the unemployed will be about 300 million people. While 1.6 billion people on the planet, employed in the most affected sectors of the economy in General will lose their livelihood.

Experts estimate that currently more than 436 million businesses are experiencing serious difficulties with functioning due to restrictive measures. Of them, 232 million are employed in trade, 111 million in the manufacturing industry, 51 million in construction and catering, 42 million in other business activities.

In connection with the above statistics, the ILO insists on the adoption of urgent measures to support workers and small businesses, creating new jobs.
