He noted that these results suggest that 2.7 million people in the state could be infected with a coronavirus.
“We had the large, comprehensive study in the state of new York to find out the rate of infection… we Have preliminary data from the first phase, and we will continue them. We have about 3 thousand of tests… of the 19 counties, 40 towns in the state. The studies were conducted in grocery stores, etc., i.e., we test people who are by definition not sitting at home,” said Cuomo at a press conference.
“Until we got this number is 13.9% tested positive for the presence of antibodies. This means that people who have been infected and they have developed antibodies to fight the infection. How does this affect the numbers? The figure is 13.9% of the population, about 2.7 million people got infected”, he said.
