MOSCOW, 23 APR – RIA Novosti. The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine announced the beginning of the campaign to fix on the country articles in the online encyclopedia Wikipedia, which Kyiv authorities considered biased. About it reported in a press-service of the diplomatic Department.
Partner of the MFA in this endeavour will act as the public organization “Wikimedia Ukraine”, which is the country’s largest Association of administrators of Wikipedia.
At the same time, the Ministry noted that the participants of the campaign will be to amend the articles concerning the so-called “Russian aggression” against Ukraine. The diplomats will fix Wikipedia in the languages of their countries of residence.
Relations between Moscow and Kiev deteriorated after the coup in Ukraine, the reunification of the Crimea with Russia and the beginning of the confrontation in the Donbass.
In January 2015 the Verkhovna Rada adopted a statement which called Russia “an aggressor country”. Kiev has repeatedly accused Moscow of meddling in their Affairs — in particular, involvement in the conflict in the Donbass, espionage, cyber attacks and even the supply of Ukrainian rocket engines to the DPRK.
Russia denies the accusations and calls unacceptable. Moscow has repeatedly stated that it is not a party to domestic conflict and is interested in Kiev overcame political and economic crisis.
