Putin and Merkel discussed the settlement of the conflict in the South-East of Ukraine and praised the recent exchange of detained persons between Kiev and self-proclaimed Luhansk and Donetsk people’s republics.
the Kremlin said that highlighted the need for consistent implementation of the Minsk agreements and summits of the “Normandy Quartet.”
“Noted, in particular that the Ukrainian authorities have to comply with the obligations of the political aspects of the settlement, including legislative recognition of the special status of Donbass”, — said in the Kremlin.
