malicious activity was preceded by rumors that pandemic coronavirus in some way connected with the technology of mobile communication of the fifth generation, and local authorities in Bibinje under cover of night, secretly installed the device for signal distribution 5G.
the municipality has categorically denied this and said that in February work was done on the installation of standard equipment in the framework of Wifi4EU, involving the distribution of free Internet access in public areas. Such means of communication in Bibinje have equipped the building of the local House of culture, the municipality and the sports complex. The project was funded by the European Union in the amount of 15 thousand euros.
“given the new situation with the pandemic COVID-19, when the preservation of health everyone should stay at home, we felt it inappropriate to boast the installation of equipment, providing free Internet access in busy public places”, – stated in the message.
Local authorities expressed confidence that the vandals will be found after a study frame shots surveillance.
