Scientists have understood, how it was built Stonehenge – stone megalithic construction in the UK, whose age is several thousand years. To solve the mystery helped the photos taken from the air, reports The Sun.
The staff of the “British heritage” studied the pictures Sarsenov (huge, vertically mounted stone blocks that make up the outer circle) and noticed details that had previously escaped their attention.
So, on the surface of the blocks were bumps and holes, obviously made artificially. Obviously, thanks to them, the stones fit snugly to each other.
Experts have suggested that the ancient builders had collected the stone slabs in the style of Lego bricks by inserting a bulge on one piece into the hole of the other. A similar approach is used modern masters, however, mainly in the woodworking industry.
Note that Stonehenge remains one of the most mysterious monuments of antiquity. It is believed that he began to build about 3,000 years before our era. Scientists still can’t understand how ancient tribes were able to cope with such complex challenge, as the transportation and installation of multi-ton boulders.
They also noted that other buildings of that era are much more primitive. Obviously, the creators of Stonehenge used “advanced” technology, because they wanted to dolmen preserved for the ages. Perhaps the same approach was used for wooden structures, but it is impossible to verify – none of them could survive to the present day.
Earlier it was reported that archaeologists “extended” history of London for three thousand years. In the 36 century BC on the site of the modern city could dwell in people.
