In Istanbul, where conducting a regime of self-isolation, are still three members of the Russian crew of chemical tanker, 10 January, faced with a Turkish fishing ship, said the company-owner of OOO “Smartrendering”.
“the Captain, the boatswain and the chief officer after an event located in Istanbul, waiting for the end of the investigation by the Turkish authorities. But the investigation is suspended because of the situation with coronavirus”, – the company reported to “Interfax”.
The representative of “Smartrendering” said the company rented an apartment to the sailors, they stay in isolation and go out once a week for groceries.
“We have appealed to the Russian Consulate in Turkey and other agencies with a request for the deportation of the seamen home. At the Consulate we were informed that the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkey in quarantine and can’t help in resolution of problems”, – said the Agency interlocutor.
Sailors, he said, asking for help from the Russian authorities want to return home.
“We ask the Consulate and Ministry of foreign Affairs, the government of the Samara region to draw attention to the fact that for three months our sailors are at an impasse. We ask you to bring our sailors home. Today from Moscow the plane flies to Istanbul to pick up Russian citizens from Turkey. Of course, our guys want to be aboard this aircraft,” – said the representative of the company.
He added that the sailors had to end visa, however, against the background of quarantine measures in the country the visa will be extended automatically.
10 January off the coast of Turkey, the Russian tanker “Glard-2” faced with a Turkish fishing boat. As a result of collision three persons of the six aboard the fishing vessel were missing, and the ship sank.
OOO “Smartrendering” reported that the Turkish ship was in breach of the international regulations for preventing collision – unmarked and navigation lights.
A consequence much of the blame was laid on the fishermen. The Turkish authorities allowed the tanker to continue the journey, but the captain, the first mate and the boatswain, who carried the watch at the moment of collision the two ships remained in Istanbul until the end of the proceedings.
