The actions of the municipality in Prague, associated with the dismantling of the monument to Marshal of the Soviet Union Ivan Konev, are cynical and outrageous. This opinion was expressed by the Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in conversation with the Russian and foreign journalists.

He also noted that the actions in Prague against the monument are contrary to the Treaty between the Russian Federation and the Czech Republic. The European side, in turn, has previously stressed that the provisions of the Treaty were not violated. According to Lavrov, such statements — “from the evil one”.

Actions of the municipality in Prague otherwise cynical and outrageous it is hard to say, they are contrary to the agreement which the Czech Republic signed, — quotes the Minister of foreign Affairs of the RT.

The Czech authorities dismantled the statue of military commander on 3 April — half a century after installation. The monument was opened in 1980 on the square of international Brigade in memory of the liberation of the city from German forces in may 1945. The investigative Committee of Russia opened on the fact of dismantling of the monument to a criminal case.

As previously wrote NEWS.ru the Czech President Milos Zeman commented on the demolition of the monument to Marshal of the Soviet Union Ivan Konev. According to him, those who ordered to dismantle the monument, made a “stupid” and “ridiculous” act, however, Russia’s reaction to this seems inadequate.
