MOSCOW, 14 APR – RIA Novosti. The state Duma at plenary session on Tuesday adopted in the first reading a bill to extend the experiment on electronic voting in Moscow in 2020 and 2021.
the author of the initiative, state Duma Deputy Irina Belykh explained that the previously adopted legislation and technical base contributed to the successful pilot of remote electronic voting in the elections on 8 September 2019 in Moscow, which was attended by over 11 thousand people from the three electoral districts of the capital.
it proposes to extend this form of voting in elections at all levels: in the Federal bodies of state power, bodies of state power of Moscow and local authorities, follows from an electronic database of the lower house of Parliament.
Digital polling stations was first used in Moscow in 30 polling stations in a single voting day on 8 September last year. In these areas could vote, the voters of the 20 regions: in the 16 elections of the highest officials in four additional elections of deputies of the state Duma.
