The parliamentary Committee on budget approved the draft amendments to the State budget for the current year, which decreased by UAH 2 billion ($73.3 million) previously estimated size of the Fund to combat coronavirus. On Saturday said the MP from "European solidarity" Alexey Goncharenko.
"the Budget Committee approved the draft amendments to the state Budget by 2020. Compared to made by the Cabinet project reduced the Fund to fight COVID-19 on 2 billion hryvnias, and now it is available in the amount of 64.9 billion hryvnia ($2.38 billion)," wrote Goncharenko in his Telegram channel.
According to the Deputy, the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada in the draft amendments of the budget also approved the restoration of subsidies to farmers, increased funding for airport construction of the Dnieper (former Dnepropetrovsk) and other projects. In a new document for a period of quarantine is limited to the salaries of officials, deputies, judges, heads of state enterprises and members of their Supervisory boards.

The Verkhovna Rada at an extraordinary meeting on April 13 will consider amending the country’s budget by 2020. On 30 March, the Parliament rejected the initial version of the sequester of the state budget and sent it back for revision. The first version of the document provided for the reduction of revenues by 11.2% and increase spending by 6.7%. The level limit of state debt was planned to increase to almost 2,386 trillion hryvnia ($88 billion), while a string of "limiting the amount of debt guaranteed by the state" on 318,4 billion ($11.7 billion) were withdrawn from the document.
On 8 April, the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhiy Marchenko said that the government of the country in the new reduction project of the state budget for 2020 has kept the growth of its deficit limit of 3.1 times – up to 298 billion hryvnia (nearly $11 billion). The size of the Fund to combat the novel coronavirus in the new document it was proposed to establish in size 66,3 billion ($2.45 billion), which is less than the original version almost 32%.
