The broadcaster and doctor, Alexander Myasnikov said about the dangers of artificial lung ventilation (ALV) in the program "Soloviev Live" on YouTube.
According to him, the ventilators require only the sick who are in critical condition, which explains the high mortality rate among such patients. The doctor has denied recent media reports that 70% connected to the ventilator to die.
However, Myasnikov noted that the ventilator can be a source of infections.
"Every second patient on a ventilator receives nosocomial infection, it’s very, very no sugar," said the doctor.
Earlier the health Ministry of Russia reported that the connection of patients with COVID-19 to the apparatus of artificial ventilation of lungs can be associated with a number of risks.
