There are hectic days for those who are planning what should go on the Norwegian TV screens this summer and fall. Koronapandemien has led to many productions either moved on, put on hold or cancelled.
In addition, there are large holes in the sendeskjemaene to several of the channels when international events such as the Eurovision Song Contest, the summer OLYMPICS and the european football CHAMPIONSHIP is cancelled or postponed.
couples dance with the distance
– Right now we do not know what is going on. We had plans to create many programs that should have gone in the summer and fall. But the longer it goes, the harder it will be to implement, ” says kanaldirektør and publisher at TV 2, Trygve Rønningen, to NRK.
TV 2 has moved innspillingstidspunktet for some productions, while other applications are put on hold to see if they can carry out in a proper way. One of the programs there can joke for if the restrictions are long-standing, “Shall we dance”.

Unclear fate for”Ex on the beach”
Measures to avoid koronasmitte have the last three weeks resulted in a marked increase in TV viewing, according to the Campaign. But even if the canals can enjoy this, is it dry in the advertising market, and thus inntektssvikt.
Nordic Entertainment Group (Nent), with, among other TV 3, Viasat 4 and Chummy, has had to tighten into livreima. They have announced a cost-cutting of close to 800 million Norwegian kroner.
the Restrictions in the community goes, of course, out of innholdsproduksjonen, and several recordings are put on hold. But the “Paradise Hotel” on TV 3 and Chummy is already in the box and with that the season was recorded now in the winter.
another lettkledd realityserie that are popular with viewers, is “Ex on the Beach”. The series has been planned as one of the year’s major initiatives for the Discovery, and the plan was to send the series both now in the spring and fall. The autumn issue is scheduled in production for the summer.
– We are working on various options and scenoarioer around this, ” says the operations leader in the Discovery, Espen Skoland, to NRK.
Also for the NRK, the crisis has had consequences for the TV offer. There have been adaptations in that programs that are “New again”, “Lindmo”, “All against 1” and “Kåss until the even” have gone without the audience. At the same time, “Gullrekka” has been expanded, while the “Folkeopplysningen” is postponed to the autumn.
After the plan was NRK send the national markings for the frigjøringsjubileet 8. may, which is now canceled, at the same time as that 17. maifeiringen being any different this year than in previous years.
– We are now working to find out how to NRK, nevertheless, to have marked these important dates for the audience, ” says TV chief Arne Helsingen in NRK.
Need to move more reality-series
At TV production companies, who create content for the channels, there are also large challenges.
Managing director Erlend Røeggen at Nordisk Film TV says that it mostly is all about pushing as many as possible of the scheduled productions until later in the year.
The original season of “71 degrees north” was actually on tour in april and may. It needs to be moved. “Robinson” was started in the Philippines in June. It needs to be moved. “Gullruten” should have been produced 9. may in the Hall, but it is also deferred. We hope we’ll get discontinued in the early autumn, but it is too uncertain to knock a date now.

Managing director, Ingvild Daae in the Monster says that they have had to break all dramaproduksjoner who were, or were in the recording of april and may, as well as a variety of other productions.
– Only selected projects with a small team continuing with recording these days. All that is in rework or the development goes normally, from the home office and with the digital meetings. Fortunately, it is only the VG-list which is canceled, ” she says.
Several of the production companies NRK have talked with feel that the canals are still interested in buying the content, and the fact that it is possible creatively to create content under the prevailing restrictions.
Daae doubt, therefore, that the Norwegian viewers only need to stay on the replays of the fall and winter.
– There is enough creativity and willingness to get up new productions that are feasible in these times.
