two of the cyclists drove at around 9.20 pm, in the Old Ieperstraat, a narrow country road when a tractor trailer drove by. For a still unclear reason, it is one of them, a 49-year-old G. M. from the Countryside, is fallen, and is between the tractor and the trailer, too. His friend saw it all happen. The emergency services were on the spot, but the help was of no avail. The man died at the scene.
The public prosecutor’s office will send a verkeersdeskundige on the circumstances of the accident to investigate.
