Russia has conducted tests of prototypes of vaccines against coronavirus in mice and ferrets, they have managed to create immunity against COVID-19. Now experts have begun testing in the lower primates, they will last until the end of April. Then begin preclinical trials, and by the summer the researchers hope to begin testing on humans.
“At the first stage we carry out the immunization of animals, look at the ability to generate sufficient immunity, both cellular and humoral, and after that will be held for infection with live virus,” – said the TV channel “Russia 1”, the General Director of the state scientific center of Virology and biotechnology “Vector” Rinat Maksyutov.
