Nine community organizations, helping victims of domestic violence, asked Prime Minister Mikhail mishustina and regional leaders to take urgent measures to protect victims in terms of quarantine coronavirus, reported the human rights organization “Area law”.
human rights activists note that with the introduction of the quarantine mode in the world, an increasing number of complaints from victims of domestic violence, the same situation is happening in Russia. The police stopped a personal reception of citizens, and to seek help, victims can now only by phone, email or through the mail of Russia.
the authors of the appeal urge the government and the regional authorities to provide enough places in the shelters or organizations that are temporarily used as shelters (e.g., hotels).

Public organizations also offer to help the victims in getting medical, psychological and legal assistance. In addition, they call not to prosecute victims of domestic violence who violate the quarantine.
