From midnight on the night of 1. april, for the first time listening to a new radio channel targeted at young people.
When Tuesday turns into Wednesday, the new dab channel, Radio Loud, in the air for the first time.
But it will be a different premiere than planned. For coronakrisen has meant that radio has had to postpone virtually all of the planned programs.
It tells the Radio Louds kanaldirektør, Ann Lykke Davidsen.
– We have gone to the task by saying that we will not send our sendeplan, if we are to follow the authorities ‘ recommendations. For it would mean that between 40-45 people should have their daily walk on the canal.
– We need to reduce the number of different persons, which must go through the same premises, the same toilets and the same small kitchen. And that means, of course, that there are programs, which must necessarily be deleted, she says.
the Radio Loud became a reality, when the channel in the autumn of 2019 won the Danish Ministry of culture’s offer on the digital radio channel.
the Radio Loud, addressing in particular 15-32-year-old, and the team has a few months had to develop an identity, hire an editorial staff and find hosts.
But the redemption is postponed, after coronaudbruddet has hit Denmark a few weeks before the premiere.
instead have Loud dedicated most of the air to once-daily application of coronaviruses. It should be borne by the editorial team of four people at a time, as moving into the studio on Christianshavn in Copenhagen.
– Many of the safeguards is that we can’t be so many people present, as we would like. And, one might say, is brandærgerligt. But how is it, says Ann Lykke Davidsen and adds, that it has been a “bizarre start-up”.
Coronavirusset is, however, far from the first challenge, as a Radio Loud has had to overcome. Since the radio won the tender, there has not been much else than trouble.
the offer was originally invented as a rescue to Radio24syv. But since the Radio and television board decided to give it to ungdomskanalen, it unleashed fierce criticism from citizens and politicians.
since then it has Radio24syvs lawyers regatta Radio and television board in the case of the controversial procurement.
And do you think Ann Lykke Davidsen, comes the criticism of the Loud not to disappear right now. In fact, quite the contrary.
– It is clear that when you lose something you love, then it is also emotions that come into. And it (the criticism, red.) will definitely flare up again.
– We still have an ambition to create a radio station and a sound for our young people in Denmark, and it goes we do not compromise on, she says.
