With Election Day just around the corner, both presidential candidates are planning visits to Texas this Friday.

Former President Donald Trump will kick off the day with a press conference at a private jet terminal in East Austin at 12:30 p.m. After that, he is expected to appear on Joe Rogan’s popular podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience.” Rogan recently announced on social media that he would be interviewing Trump at his studio located in a home on the shores of Lake Austin. Due to these events, the City of Austin has warned of road closures on SH 71 between U.S. 183 and Woodward Street, as well as closures on U.S. 183 between SH 71 and Burleson Road. Travelers heading to the airport in the afternoon should anticipate traffic delays.

Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris will be in Houston for a campaign rally from 3 to 8 p.m. The National Democratic Party has announced that musician Willie Nelson will be in attendance, along with Tina Knowles, the mother of Beyoncé. Rumors suggest that Beyoncé herself may make an appearance alongside the Democratic presidential nominee, although no official confirmation has been given. Democratic Congressman Colin Allred, who is running for U.S. Senate against Ted Cruz, will also be joining Harris at the rally.

Recent polls indicate that Trump is likely to win Texas by five points, a similar margin to his victory in the state during the 2020 election. However, national polls show a much closer race between Harris and Trump.
