Exciting Lineup Revealed for Austin Film Festival 2024
The Austin Film Festival has once again solidified its reputation as a key player in the lead-up to awards season by announcing the addition of two highly anticipated films to its lineup. Deaf Santa Claus, a heartwarming documentary, chronicles the journey of Charles Graves, a deaf man who embodies the spirit of Christmas as a professional Santa Claus in New Braunfels.
La Gloria, a border drama, explores the consequences of a rancher’s accidental shooting of a migrant woman on his property. Subtopia: The Story of Hueco Canyon takes a satirical approach to suburban life, unraveling the chaos that ensues when an HOA election turns into a full-blown riot.
Rounding out the world premieres is Texas Cult House, a queer horror film shot in Waco and featuring Austin’s own Adrianne Palicki. The film follows a group of friends who stumble upon an abandoned cult leader’s home and uncover dark secrets that haunt them.
