(New York) A documentary chronicling Beyoncé’s just-concluded 39-city Renaissance World Tour will premiere in North American theaters on December 1.

The film adds another pop star to a short list of films showing in the fall, due to the Hollywood actors’ strike. A film about Taylor Swift’s Eras tour will be released on October 13.

Beyoncé’s film will be presented for at least four weeks, according to the AMC cinema chain.

Beyoncé previously made a film, Homecoming, released on Netflix in 2019, which chronicled her performance at the Coachella festival in 2018. In the deals with AMC, Beyoncé and Swift would both receive at least 50% of ticket sales.

The film traces Beyoncé’s tour named after her 2022 Grammy Award-winning album Renaissance. It mixes concert footage and elements of a visual album, following the tour since it launched in May in Stockholm , in Sweden, until the final Sunday evening in Kansas City, Missouri.

In five months, some 2.7 million spectators attended the concert. The tour grossed nearly US$500 million, according to Billboard.

Beyoncé posted the trailer on her Instagram account with the message: “Be careful what you ask because I might just obey it. »
