Quitter la nuit will open the 38th Festival international du film francophone de Namur next month. Directed by Delphine Girard, this Belgian-Quebec co-production notably stars Anne Dorval.
The drama tells the story of a woman in danger who calls the police, and the ensuing investigation to try to confirm the guilt of the arrested man. European actors Selma Alaoui, Veerle Baetens and Guillaume Dhesme complete the cast.
Leaving the Night will have its world premiere in a few weeks at Venice Days, a parallel section of the prestigious Venice Film Festival. The feature will then be screened in Namur, Belgium on September 29. The team is expected on site.
Born in Quebec, filmmaker Delphine Girard moved to Belgium a few years later. We owe him the short film A Sister, a finalist for the Oscars in 2020 and awarded at several festivals.
