(Montreal) The third film in the Avatar series will be released a year later than planned, in December 2025, Walt Disney announced today.
And the fourth film will arrive even later, in 2029, with the fifth scheduled for 2031.
If those dates hold, the films’ releases will have spanned four decades.
James Cameron, who launched the first film in 2009, said he might not be able to direct the fourth and fifth feature. The 66-year-old director would be 77 in 2031.
