Singer Ginette Reno, who was to take on the honorary presidency of the Outaouais Film Festival, is forced to cancel her presence due to health problems.
“It is with regret that I must cancel my participation in the Outaouais Film Festival. Joint health problems make me suffer a lot and unfortunately prevent me from moving around. I was very happy to be honorary president of this beautiful event this year. I will be with you wholeheartedly and wish everyone a great Festival! said the 76-year-old artist in a statement.
Didier Farré, President of the FFO, said: “I am sorry for her and wish her a speedy recovery”.
Ginette Reno was to offer a lesson in cinema on June 3 and attend the presentation of the film Léolo by Jean-Claude Lauzon.
Note that the 24th Outaouais Film Festival, dedicated to the memory of Michel Côté, will take place from June 1 to 9 at Cinéma 9 in Gatineau and in several theaters in the region. More than 80 screenings from around 30 countries are on the program.
For her part, Ginette Reno recently published her autobiography, titled Ginette; more than 50,000 copies sold in less than a month. She also launched a new album in stride.
