Good news from Schult: The national goalkeeper and ARD expert Almuth Schult is pregnant. In December, the footballer suffered a severe blow of fate when her father-in-law died. In any case, Schult wants to continue her career after the pregnancy.
Almuth Schult is expecting another child – the goalkeeper already has a pair of three-year-old twins with her husband at home. The past time was very difficult for the footballer, as she reveals to the “NDR” in an interview.
“My family is very happy that we are again expecting children. The death of my father-in-law in December made our family very sad and was very emotional for us,” said the 31-year-old.
The offspring should be born at the end of August. “Pregnancy makes us all look happier to the future. Fate sometimes has something positive for you, even in difficult times.”
Schult definitely wants to continue her career after the pregnancy. She is currently without a club and most recently played for club Angel City FC in Los Angeles. Schult previously won six German championship titles and eight cups with VfL Wolfsburg.
The World Championships in New Zealand and Australia will also take place without Schult. Because the 31-year-old is calculated for August. “I will miss a major tournament for the first time since 2011. But the reason for this couldn’t be nicer,” said Schult.
