Mourning for a series star: Annie Wersching is dead. The actress succumbed to cancer on Sunday, which she was diagnosed with in 2020. She was 45 years old. Her husband, actor Stephen Full, said in a statement: “Today there is a huge hole in the soul of our family. But she showed us how to fill it. She could discover wonders in the simplest of moments. She didn’t need music to dance. She taught us not to wait for adventure to find us.”
Wersching was born in St. Louis and in 1977 and made her television debut in 2002’s Star Trek: Enterprise, guest starring on shows such as Frasier, Angel, Charmed, Boston Legal, and Supernatural “ followed. In 2009, she landed the role of FBI agent on “24,” which she played for two seasons of the show. 24 producer and director Jon Cassar commemorated Wersching in a statement: “My heart is broken into more pieces than I can count. Annie came into my world with an open heart and an infectious smile,” he said.
Wersching was a sought-after TV actress: she played recurring roles in “Timeless”, “Runaways” and “Bosch”. She was last seen playing the Borg Queen in the second season of “Star Trek: Picard,” at a time when she was already aware of her diagnosis, Entertainment Weekly reports. In addition to her husband, Wersching leaves behind three sons.
