The energy group RWE performed better than expected last year. In particular, the water, biomass and gas businesses, which are part of the core business, and energy trading had developed better than expected at the end of the year, the group announced on Wednesday afternoon in Essen.
Based on preliminary figures, adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) amounted to 6.31 billion euros. In its forecast, the management assumed a maximum of 5.5 billion euros. Last year alone that much was allotted to the core business, to which the Essen-based company also includes the areas of onshore and offshore wind power and solar.
According to the announcement, the adjusted net result is around 3.2 billion euros. A maximum of 2.6 billion euros was expected. The dividend target for the 2022 financial year remains unchanged at EUR 0.90 per share. RWE intends to present the final figures on March 21.
