When a school transporter collided with a truck, eleven people were injured in Lower Saxony – including eight schoolgirls between the ages of 9 and 18. According to the current status, there are three seriously injured, said a spokesman for the police in Oldenburg on Wednesday.
The accident happened on Wednesday morning at an intersection in the Westerstede area. Eight students between the ages of 9 and 18 were injured, as well as the 77-year-old driver of the van and the two truck occupants, 50 and 18 years old. All were taken to hospitals, an 18-year-old by rescue helicopter.
The exact course of the accident was still unclear according to the police. According to the authorities’ previous knowledge, the truck was on a priority road. The driver of the van probably did not give priority to the truck in an intersection area, as it was said.
