Federal Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach has prepared the citizens for higher contributions to long-term care insurance.
“In particular, we want to improve care by relatives and outpatient services,” said the SPD politician to “Stern”. “That’s why we will not be able to avoid that the contribution rates increase.”
Lauterbach pointed out that most of those affected are cared for at home. “They need our support.” Personnel costs in outpatient care have also increased. He also emphasized: “We cannot starve the industry on the one hand and on the other hand expect more people to decide to work here.” The coalition agreement “rightly also provides for further tax subsidies”.
