British newspapers had already reported on the highly paid speech in October, but at the time spoke of a fee of around 144,000 euros (150,000 US dollars) – less than half of what the former prime minister actually received.
Johnson stated in the register that he had worked a total of 8.5 hours. This brings him to an hourly wage of 37,000 euros. He and two members of his team were also paid for travel and accommodation. Johnson delivered the speech just over a month after stepping down as Prime Minister.
