RBB, plagued by scandals, is being drawn deeper and deeper into the swamp of nepotism and wasting public funds. Now a case of presumptuous influence by a former RBB top official has become known.
Chief controller tries to influence: According to a report by “Welt”, former RBB board member Wolf-Dieter Wolf has tried in the past to influence critical reporting by the broadcaster. In 2013, Wolf apparently wanted to influence a controversial RBB contribution about a construction project by the state-owned company Messe Berlin – in vain.
Report touched on Wolf’s own interests: The RBB had reported on exploding construction costs for the “City Cube”, which the chief inspector wanted to prevent. Spicy: Wolf was a member of the supervisory board of the trade fair company at the time.
