The tire manufacturer Nexen informs about a manufacturing defect in numerous products via “productwarning.eu”. This can lead to a selective tread detachment. This leads to instability of the car while driving.

It is about car winter tires that were produced in 2020 in calendar week 29 in a plant in the Czech Republic. Various versions of the Winguard Sport 2 and Winguard Snow’G3 are affected.

Specifically, these sizes of the models with the corresponding DOT serial numbers are affected:

The DOT number is on the sidewalls of the tires. The first digits must be 035. They point to the production in the Czech Republic. The last four digits indicate the production period (week/year).

Nexen has launched an exchange program for affected customers. It is recommended that the replacement be arranged at the point of purchase as soon as possible. There are no costs for buyers.
