Strict energy saving regulations are coming to Germany this autumn and winter. Among other things, public buildings should only be heated to a maximum of 19 degrees.
Federal Economics Minister Robert Habeck (Greens) made this clear in an interview with the Süddeutsche Zeitung. “We will issue regulations on the Energy Security Act,” Habeck told the SZ.
Habeck had already presented the first key points in July, including the requirement that private pools should no longer be heated. “In addition, in public properties – hospitals, social facilities excluded, of course – should only be heated to 19 degrees,” announced Habeck.
In addition, buildings and monuments should no longer be illuminated at night and advertising systems should not be illuminated. “More savings are also needed in the world of work,” said the minister. This is currently being discussed with the Ministry of Labor and the social partners.
