A member of the Landtag of the Free Voters in Rhineland-Palatinate has made a rather unusual request to the state government. She wanted to know if horses can get a psychological crack from encounters with wolves.

Questions from the opposition to the government are often quite suitable for questioning government actions or, in the best case, even for influencing them. The question from a member of the Free Voters in Rhineland-Palatinate, on the other hand, falls more into the category “abnormal”.

The politician wanted to know whether behavioral disorders developed through encounters with wolves or how these behavioral defects and disorders were identified in “community animals”. This is reported by the “Trierische Volksfreund”.

In addition, the lawyer also wanted to know whether there would be a change in the compensation guidelines due to the behavioral damage and disorders in horses or herding dogs.

Even if the question sounds far-fetched, it still had to be answered. The responsible ministry made it short: The state government was not aware of any damage to horses or herding dogs caused by the wolf, it wrote in the reply.
