Cruel traffic accident in the USA: Congresswoman Jackie Walorski died in a head-on crash. Her communications director and district director also died in her car. The driver of the other car was also killed.
A Republican US Congresswoman and two of her associates have died in a car accident. Jackie Walorski, 58, was driving her vehicle in her home state of Indiana on Wednesday, police said. Also in the car were her communications director, 28, and district director, 27.
A woman (56) lost control of her vehicle on the opposite lane and steered head-on into Walorski’s car. Everyone involved died.
House Republican Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy shared a message from Walorski’s office on Twitter. “She has returned home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” it said. Her husband had been informed of the death by the police.
“She passionately brought the voices of her northern Indiana constituents to Congress and was admired by peers on both sides of the aisle for her personal kindness,” responded Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Walorski was elected to the US House of Representatives in 2012. She was previously a member of the Indiana state legislature. Walorski voted in January 2021 to contest the result of the presidential election. Violent supporters of then President Donald Trump had previously stormed Congress.
Walorski and he did not agree on many issues, said Democratic US President Joe Biden. But the MP was appreciated for her work by members of both parties. Biden dropped the flags at half-mast on the White House.
